Happy 2019 From The Canes

As the 2018 year closes, and I’m sitting on a bus heading home from a 2-1 Russian victory over Canada in the final round robin game of group A, I find myself looking back at all my time spent in the NEFHL. I joined the league back in 2006 and took over the Canes in 2007.  A lot has happened over the last 12 years and one of the constants has been those mighty sims by JD. We have all aged and many of us have gotten married and had kids while being a part of this great league. While many things have changed, we have remained a pretty tight group of guys as we have all grown up. It’s pretty cool to be part of a group that shares the same interests while striving for that same cup that only brings with it bragging rights and a little banner on your teams page.  I can’t count how many hours I’ve invested in this league, and don’t much care no matter how big that number is. I wouldn’t change my time in this league for anything and hope we keep it running for many many more years to come. I may never win a cup in the NEFHL but it definitely won’t be for a lack of effort. There are just so many GMs pouring their hearts into their teams and hopefully that never changes.

Happy New Years to all of you guys and your families!  Here’s to 2019, hopefully another amazing year for all of us and our teams!
