Huet moves to Chicago

Right when it seemed that Cristobal Huet finally was playing to his skill level, he was traded by the Nashville Predators to the playoffs battling Chicago Blackhawks. In return, the Predators receive younger netminder Kari Lehtonen.

Huet was surprised at being traded this early after being signed to a three year contract last summer: "I came in with the Predators thinking that I would be playing the full three years until their younger gun Tuukka Rask was ready to take on the starting spot."

GM Tremblay was questioned about the move: "We never thought about trading Huet, who has been good for us especially of late. We believed and still believe in his ability as a good starter in the league. However, our rising star Tuukka Rask is developping a bit quicker than we thought and he may be ready sooner than we thought. As well, we think that since we're battling for the first rank in our division, Kari Lehtonen can make a small difference over Huet."
