All set to chase down the NEFHL cup this season, anything short of that goal will be a failure. I think this years team will surpass last years, we are stronger up the middle, have as good tending and our backend is a lot more dynamic than last seasons. Injuries of course will play an important role as always but not one of my key players has a DU <80.
Dan Cleary-Big Z-Saint louie
Love this first line, Saint louies 75sc and 71df will make him a scoring threat who can backcheck the best left wingers in the NEFHL. His 82 sp and 81sk mean he will give slow footed dmen fits in the offensive zone. His 90pa means he will be able to feed linemates Z and Cleary with regular accuracy and will make him a killer PP guy. Z, not much to say that already hasn't been said, his 75+sp along with his 75df mean he will be able to keep up and shut down many of the leagues top centermen. Cleary is a perfect fit on this line, overall not a flashy guy but his 70+ it/st will help battle down the rougher teams in the NE division. Did i mention he sports a 75df? Sense a pattern yet?
Lots of youth on this line, Richards the veteran is still only 25 and boasts a wicked good 79df! His 77sc will go along way to making him a massive two way threat and considering the 2nd line centermen matching up with Richards nightly, it almost dosen't seem fair. Speedster Gucch will have a good time spooking opposition dmen while blowing by them, on the way to the net. Benn and Richards IT combined with all three having 66+ sc and 74+ df will make this one of the most dangerous 2nd lines in the NEFHL.
I've heard teams boasting about their 3rd lines and bite my tongue, the proof will be in the pudding as these three line up against the leagues best. Each one capable of being bumped onto the top 2 lines, lets revel in the fact that the Fiddler has a 78df. Combine that will GlenX and his 62+sc/pa/pc and Rosies 77df and 75it and you have a three pronged attack that will go sushi on any teams supposed third line.
Fourth Line (thats right, pay attention kiddys)
I love seeing teams double shifting guys on their fourth line, love it. Thats not how these Bruins roll, and when your talking a long regular season and prolonged playoff run then depth is huge. These guys could line up on most teams 3rd line and still look decent. Mattias is coming into his own with a meager but respectable 73df and a solid 80st. MaxTab looks to bounce back this season but still hold a 78df and Kennedy could see his playing time increased with injuries, he has solid ratings all around with 60sc/pc and 74df. When you can throw out these three to give your big dogs a well deserved rest, you know the kids are gonna be alright.
Top D Pairing
Good size, speed, strength, passing, defenese, offense. What more could you ask for in a top pairing. Perfect in almost every way, if i wasn't married i'd...never mind. Jovo will run the PP and should be an upgrade on Hamerlik who did alright last year in the playoffs.
Young gun dman meets stay a home stud. Love this pairing as well, not doubt in my mind the slick skating del zotto will mesh well with the hard nosed Hanisey. MDZ will see time on the PP and Hanisey will be a mainstay on the PK.
I ride my top 4 dmen pretty hard and don't like spending much coin on the 5/6 slot so these two guys fit the bill, cap wise and everything else i like in a 5/6 dman - 88+ du, 71+ df, 71+ sp/sk. Low mins but still important, i love these two bottom feeders, this years version of Smaby/Skrastins.
VKunt & Baby Food
VKunt had a solid season and we'll look to him to repeat last years feats, of note, his DU is up from 84 to 92 a key rating when it comes down to an important game 7. Baby food did alright by me after being claimed on waivers, he won some critical playoff games and will get about 15-20 starts this season.
