COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets are riding an 8-game winning streak thanks in large part to their star goalie, Jaroslav Halak.

The Halakness Monster, as he's called, has started 7 of 8 games in February and has posted a 1.71GAA and 0.915SV% to go with his perfect 7-0-0 record. "Jaroslav is playing out his mind right now for us, he's really carrying the team as we make our push for the playoffs. Vesa (Toskala) is required to play 2 more games for us this season, but you can bet that the rest of the starts are going to Halak", said GM-Eric.

Unfortunately for GM-Eric and the Jackets, however, Halak's NHL numbers have been on a downswing as of late. Currently on the LTIR for the St. Louis Blues, Halak is sitting at 2.63GAA and 0.907 after 43 starts in goal. "We aren't too concerned with Halak's NHL numbers", says Eric. "His current stats are still better than Ray Emery's numbers from last year, and since Emery received an 81OV we can only assume Halak will be given similar treatment during rerates", he added.

The Jackets have a number of important match-ups to close out the month. On Tuesday the team will host the defending champions Los Angeles Kings, who have yet to beat the Jackets this season (3-1 and 10-1 losses), before playing a pair of inter-division matches against Chicago on the 24th and Nashville on the 28th.
