Trade completed - Brendan Smith joins Rangers

The mobile of Rangers GM Matt Kaminski wasnt quirte after the announced trade of Alexander Ovechkin. "Most of our fans understand the reasons and the background for moving our franchise player", explained Kaminski. "They know he isnt an easy guy and well known in all bars downtown New York", he added.

But the Rangers had some trouble with the league management. "They said we havent got enough quality back for a player like AO." Indeed, a leagues decision about the trade, was rumored a 50/50 issue.

Thats why the Caps and the Rangers started to talk again. Now they finally found a possibility to satisfy the trade comitee and it seems like the trade will go through. The Capitals add prospect Brendan Smith to the initial deal.

The New York Rangers welcome: Bryan Little, Travis Zajac, Keith Yandle and Brendan Smith. They als get 3 picks. A 1st and a 2nd in 2013 and a 4th in 2012.

Thats one of the bigger trades in league history and will help out both teams immediately.
