COLUMBUS, OHIO -- With the 2011-2012 NEFHL season underway, the Columbus Blue Jackets have already managed to cross off a number of their goals for this year's campaign. Most notably, the Jackets are ahead of both the St. Louis Blues and the Detroit Red Wings in the overall standings. The team is also leading the league in both points and goals for, thanks to their seemingly unstoppable offense which includes LW Michael Grabner. In 3 games, the young Austrian has recorded 3 goals to go along with his +4 rating. The team leader in points, however, is veteran blueliner D Joe Corvo, who has quietly amassed 1 goal and 3 assists and a +5 rating as the squad's primary defenseman. The only remaining milestone is for the team to win the Stanley Cup, which most agree is only a matter of time.

After a well deserved come-from-behind win against the Vancouver Canucks last night, the Jackets play host to the Colorado Avalanche later today at Nationwide Arena. The Avalanche may not have the most potent offense on paper, but Jackets GM Eric will not be taking the team lightly: "Alex has done a good job out there in Colorado and has nice pieces coming up through the system. Our boys will have to play a full 60 minutes of hockey to beat his squad, but there's no doubt we will win."
