Heading into the 2012 NEFHL Live Draft, many eyes are on New York Islanders GM Steve "The Eyes Have It" Reisman.

With 3 First Round Picks, and 8 more in Rounds 2 and 3, this looks to be a draft that will make or break the ongoing roster rehab.

After a 29th place finish in the regular season, the Isles are optimistic about the future with a solid existing cadre of young talent already in the fold.  GM Steve has told the few people who actually care about this stuff that while a win in the lottery would likely put Yakupov in Orange and Blue, a move down could inspire a trade scenario.

"As this draft gets going, there are always GMs that will be coveting certain prospects.  We'll be listening very closely to every offer that shows up at the table.  We're fully prepared to make every pick we own but make no mistake, we won't hesitate to push our sights out to 2013 in the right circumstance."  The Islanders brain trust includes Assistant GMs Ryan Yessie and Jason Jarrett.  Yessie is known for his coverage of the Sarnia Sting while Jarrett is known for his famous hockey-stick curved schlong.

As proof of the importance of this draft, GM Steve will be driving solo from Long Island to Ottawa despite his recent eye surgery and ongoing recuperation.  "I may be the slowest car on the road on June 21st, but I'll be there for the lottery come hell or high water."
