For the first time ever...

For the first time ever the lightning make a top prospect list. Why is this the first top prospect list for the lightning one would ask? Well for the first time in franchise history, it's the first time they actually have enough prospects to make a list! No sense on keeping the fans waiting for such an occasion here is there list:

1. Mikael Granlund (top line forward who I could never see leave the lightning franchise!)

2. Filip Forsberg (top line forward as well, not quite at the level of Granlund yet but can reach it!)

3. Olli Maatta (Potentially a top pairing d-man on most teams but willl have a hard time surpassing delzotto and bogosian)

4. Zack Kassian (May value him more then most but love his size, skill and dirty side to go along with it. next bertuzzi in Vancouver??)

5. Joel Armia (Very skilled forward with size. Lacked consistency in world juniors so still unsure if he'll reach potential but if he does, watch out!)

6. Jarred Tinordi (Huge defenseman similar in size to Chara, is he the next one? Probably not but should be a very good defensive d-man!)

7. Eddie Lack (Big skilled goaltender with great numbers in the AHL the last two years. Definitely needs an opportunity but with one could do great things!)

8. Ivan Telegin (Skilled goal scorer in the OHL who actually put up more points then scheiffle on the same team in the OHL this past season. May be a long shot, but hey they work out once in a while!)

9. Michael Matheson (Has all the tools to be a top 4 d-man but will be playing the NCAA so is more of a project guy)

10. Markus Granlund (I hope to have my own brothers tandem in Tampa. Markus will have quite a hard time reaching the potential over Michael, but could definitely become a solid 2nd liner in time!)

There you have it, the lightning first top 10 prospect lists! Expect this list to be posted with more regularity and it should definitely evolve as more hockey games are played starting next season!
