COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets were up to their usual trickery tonight as they defeated the Nashville Predators in what will surely be remembered as The Blackout At Nationwide. With the Jackets leading 2-1 after 1, the power at Nationwide Arena conveniently went out during the first intermission and did not return for the remainder of the game. "These things happen from time to time; the power went out, and so we had our crew try to fix the issue but it proved impossible", said Jackets GM-Eric. In truth, the technical crew at Nationwide Arena is made up entirely of Blue Jackets Ice Girls, who know very little about lighting or anything else for that matter.

"It was totally unfair", said one Predator on account of anonymity. "With the lights out, the Jackets went to town on us; clutching, grabbing, tripping, slashing... it was a free for all out there and of course the refs couldn't see a thing so there were no penalties", he added. By the time the game was over, the Predators had only mustered a pathetic 15 shots on goal compared to the Jackets' 26. And of course, no penalties were handed out during the 2nd and 3rd periods, so no one really knows what went down at ice level.
