Rangers for real?

More than a third of the regular season is played and the NEFHL has ONE big surprise: The success of the New York Rangers! With only six 60-minutes losses in 28 games the Rags are ranked 3rd in the whole league. "Thats amazing and surprising for us too", explained GM Matt Kaminski.

His team was predicted out of the playoff-race soon, but the Rangers are not only in, but also trying to earn home ice advantage. The secret behind the success: "We have great chemistry in the team. Our big guys sacrify everyrthing to help the team and our bottom liners are working unbelievable hard. Thats all", said Kaminski today.

But its not that easy to explain why the Rangers enjoying a great start. Kaminski did a tremendous job during his NEFHL tenure. He was almost killed by fans and journalists when he moved Alexander Ovechkin to the Capitals. "We still think that was the right move at the right time", he defended this trade.

"Dont forget that this move have helped us both ways. Sure, we lost a star player, but we got immediate help (like Yandle, Little, Zajac) plus future help in Brendan Smith and 3 picks.

After moving AO Kaminski named Evander Kane the "new" face of the franchise. And Kane didnt disappoint. He is the current leading scorer of the Rangers with 28 points in 28 games. A tremendous season has also Andrei Kostitsyn. He was acquired from Boston along with a 1st round pick for Patrick Hornqvist. "Unfortunately AK signed in the KHL but right now he works out great for us (24 points in 28 games)."

The top-6 is completed by PA Parenteau whos recent lockout quotes showing a lot of dumbness, but he can play hockey (27 points), Radim Vrbata (13 goals in 22 games), veteran Matt Cullen (19 points in 25 games) and Bryan Little, who works hard defensively.

The Ranges D-men also contributing a lot to the current success. Especially youngster Cam Fowler (drafted by the Rangers in 2010) shows a lot of talent (17 points in 27 games and with +14 the best +/- on the team). It was  smart move to pick up Fedor Tyutin via re-entry waivers. The Rangersnot only got a solid top-4 D-man but also a lot of cash from Detroit. "Feds is doing great here. Six points in 15 games here along with a +5", praised Kaminski. He is normally paired with Keith Yandle on the first unit with lots of PK and PP duties.

One of the main contributors to the current streak is goalie Carey Price. "Not much to say about him. He is a great hockey player and shows that night in night out."

"We definitely know that the FHL sim is unpredictable and our success can stop beginning with this report, but its also possible that we can follow the path we are going right now. We enjoy it", closed Kaminski.

But the Rangers arent build for the moment, they also have a solid future coming. With 3 1st round picks and 4 2nd round picks in the upcoming draft Kaminski can continue to build the franchise. Are they for real?
