COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets have just pulled the trigger on a blockbuster deal that sees a long time Blue Jackets, LW Ryan Malone, head to Boston in exchange for RW Alexandre Burrows. The move adds firepower to a Columbus roster that recently lost its top rated scorer, Alex Steen, to injury.

"I was very happy in Boston", said Burrows, "but when I met Jackets-Eric and he layed out his vision of the club and my role in the future of his organization I got very excited about the move", he added. "Right from our first handshake I knew GM-Eric was the real deal and that he would treat me well; within minutes of meeting me he took me to some fancy restaurant where we talked about the future. I was definitely wined and dined".

"I drove down to Boston and picked up Burrows myself, and before driving back we grabbed a bite to eat at IHOP and I was able to tell him exactly what kind of player I thought he was. This is a good kid and I think that he will unleash his SC capacity by playing alongside Oshie and Jokinen on our top line", said Jackets GM-Eric.

The trade is expected to receive the league's approval on Sunday which means both players will be able to suit up for their new clubs on Monday night.
