Wild dispose of Sharks in OT clinch berth in playoffs

For the fifth straight year the Minnesota Wild have clinched a playoff berth. The Wild defeated the San Jose Sharks in a last minute come from behind overtime win.

"It was weird, I got a pass and Curtis team called for a full line change giving me a break away, whats even stranger was when Rask let me score to tie it up!" said Backstrom

Not long after San Jose purposely got a penalty to let Erat and Fisher have a two on 0 and score in overtime,=

"It's been an extremley tough year, losing Nicky early on really hurt our momentum and we were in a tail spin for 2/3s of the season, I think the changing point was when we went out and got Klesla and Zanon, it was almost instant the goals against dropped. People say we may of mortgaged our future, but there is ways to get good prospects without a draft. We picked up QMJHL star Kevin Gagne for cheap. I feel we have as good a chance to win the west as anyone else." said Clarey.

Tonight the Wild take on Colorado and Bobrovsky is expected to start at least half the remaning games.

"It'll be nice to get a break and gear up for the dance, this is what its all about." -Anti Niemi

The Wild also control their destiny in how high they want to finish from 4-8 having two games in hand on Vancouver and a favorable schedule.
