Rangers add Morris

After many talks and some heated discussions the NY Rangers have finally acquired Derek Morris and his 2,7 salary for the reminder of the season. Morris becomes UFA after the 2013/14 campaign.

"We had some controversy talks with Detroit for about 2 months. We finally accepted a deal for Morris, who will stabilize our team a lot. Giving up some salary in Rome and Hayes, who need to clear waivers to send him down, was the main key of our talks", Rangers GM Kaminski explained.

Rome, who is a bit injury prone, started great with the Rangers, but has only a 43 du rating. "We feel that he goes down sooner or later." On the other hand Jimmy Hayes wasnt used this year at all, but costed about 1 Mill of the cap. "All in all we swapped Morris for Rome and we got a 2nd for Hayes, while taking on about 1,1 Mill salary. Thats the deal", added Kaminski.
