Rangers advance in 5 - Lose Glenx

The first team to survive the first playoffround in the NEFHL have been the New York Rangers. With a clear 4-1 series win the Blueshirts earned some time to rest. "Thats we expected and demanded from our team. Two games have been close and the only loss was a wild one (5-8)", explained GM Kaminski.

Its really a rare game when Rangers top netminder Carey Price needed to leave the game after 20.43 minutes and 5 goals against. Aside from this loss the Rangers defensive system was solid: Price only had 6 goals against in the 4 wins to end the series.

Early dividends they got from playing Patrik Elias as Center for the first time this season. The topline of Elias and his wingers Semin and Okposo were able to score 10 goals and 14 assists, while Okposo was the best scorer of round 1 with 10 points.

The only bad issue of round 1 have been the injury to Curtis Glencross in game 5. "Thats really bad for him and for us, but we have the depth to overcome the probably season ending injury to Glenx."

The Rangers dont care about the next team to play against. "Whoever wwe will face in round 2, we want to win. But as everybody knows, winning a playoff series is one of the hardest hurdles to overcome."
