COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets' miraculous run has come to an end at the hands of their bitter rivals the Detroit Red Wings.

After dispatching the Vancouver Canucks in 6 games, the Jackets were unable to muster more than a single win again a Wings team that, on the surface, seems unstoppable. "We just ran out of steam", said Jackets GM-Eric. "Our big guns were not firing on all cylinders like they had been in the first round against Vancouver. But you know what, we never even expected to make the playoffs let alone make it out of the first round, so I'm really proud of what my team was able to accomplish this season", he added. Indeed, Columbus was kept to a single goal in each of the first three games of the series.

Now that the team is eliminated, all eyes shift to the rerates which should come out in a matter of days. The Jackets have a number of players who should see significant rating improvements in the offensive categories. Players like Nikita Kucherov, Ondrej Palat and T.J. Brodie had outstanding NHL season and figure to make huge strides in the NEFHL in 2015/16. "Once the new ratings are out we will take a step back and evaluate our team in order to find out what sort of moves need to be made before training camp opens up in June", said Eric. As we know, Columbus operates on a 12-month schedule and will be opening training camp on June 1.
