Official paperwork has been submitted on behalf of the Columbus Blue Jackets in a bid to change the team's name to the Columbus Frans Nielsens.

Next season figures to be a good one for the club as our key forwards are all putting up respectable numbers in the NHL. C Bryan Little, who was acquired for peanuts back in 2013, is nearly a point-per-game player in the NHL and should surpass the 25 goal-mark, a feat he was unable to do last season because of injuries. Another oft-injured player, LW Alexander Steen, has thus far avoided health issues and is also flirting with point-per-game numbers. Any doubt as to Steen's chances of being Columbus' loyalty this summer has certainly been eliminated by now. To complete the high-scoring trio we have RW Nikita Kucherov, the sophomore scorer who has been on fire in the NHL ever since being paired with Steven Stamkos. Kucherov is on pace for 29 goals which would equal his previous year's total. On defense, D T.J. Brodie continues to establish himself as a top blueliner despite starting the season on the injured list. At his current pace Brodie is having a career year and will be among the top bargains in the NEFHL again next season ($950,000 per year salary).

Coming up the ranks we have C Jared McCann (7 goals in 36 NHL games), LW Nick Ritchie (18 points in 18 AHL games) and C Colin White (23 points in 16 NCAA games as a freshman) all exceeding expectations.

It would appear GM-Eric has successfully managed to screen out the bulk of the Sabres-Kevin posts in the NEFHL forums. Only a few of his posting have made it through our filter in recent days, none of which are in the Sabres Team Newsletter. Surely the Sabres don't only post there when they win/tie?
