Rangers prepare for next season

After finding out the new ratings, the NEFHL Rangers know which holes are to fill: "As expected we improve upfront and will get some more scoring going into next season", GM Kaminski explained at yesterdays press conference.

With Perreault, Zucker, Frolik, JVR, Neal, and Bailey they have a solid group of offensive players. "Since the Ovechkin trade we never had a superstar forward, but we always were succesfull with chemistry and hard work."

So last season, when all experts were predicting a season without playoffs for the Rangers. But as we all know they eliminated cup favorit Florida in round 1 and have been close to advance to the conference finals, but lost game 7 to Ottawa.

"Its no secret that we would like to add another Center, ideally one for the top 2 lines", Kaminski added.

"Our D-group is a bit small at the moment with losing Daley and Fayne to UFA, but we still have some quality with Carlson and Goligoski", explained Kaminski. On the other hand Brandon Carlo is coming up and will sign an ELC very soon.

It looks like the Rangers try to land an offensive and 1 or 2 midlevel d-men. "Our 1st round pick (17th overall) is definitely in play if the return satisfies us."

After the Chad Johnson dilemma, the Rangers are also in need of a backup goalie. The trade for Craig Anderson wasnt as bad as many thought, as Anderson has very good ratings for next season.

Unfortunately GM Kaminski cant attend the NEFHL live draft, as he lives in germany / europe. "It would be exciting to get knowing some of these other guys, but its definitely too far away"
