Quiet but solid

Again the NEFHL New York Rangers playing a very solid regular season so far. 15 wins in 27 games isnt great but ok. No one talks much about the Rangers and its pretty quiet around MSG.Better said, it was quiet.

The Rangers made a trade yesterday out of nowhere: "We had several talks since weeks about JvR, but when St. Louis approached us with a solid offer, we decided to move him out."

The Rangers not only traded away a player, but also one of their best forwards who played 2 full seasons with the Rangers. "He did well with us, no question about that. Especially in the first year he scored 31 goals and was the key for our success", Kaminski explained.

When van Riemsdyks injury troubles began he started to miss a lot of games. With his low DU he missed 11 games last season and already 7 of the first 27 games this year. Combined with his expiring contract after the next season, the Rangers werent hesitating to move him out.

"The Blues will get a good offensive player with a very good contract. He can make the difference each game he is on as long as he stays healthy", Kaminski added.

Along with JvR is Ron Hainsey going to the Blues. Hainsey only played 8 games for the Rags as he was just acquiered from Winnipeg for Zach Redmond and a 4th round pick. "Ron did well with us. 2 goals and 2 assists isnt bad in 8 games." As Hainsey will be UFA after this campaign, Kaminski had no problem to add him to the package when St. Louis asked for him.

On the other site the Rangers get 2 young players with some upside back. To replace Hainsey the Rangers acquired Jake Gardiner who still hasnt reached his peak. He will make his Rangers debut tomorrow on the 2nd pair with Justin Braun.

Upfront Tanner Pearson shall try to replace the missing offense after losing JvR. "He hasnt his best NHL season so far, but with just 25 years old and a solid 990k 2 year contract he was quiet attractive for us", Kaminski said.

The Rangers not only got younger, the also got cheaper!
