Rangers ice top PP

With 20,1 % the NEFHL Rangers own the best Powerplay in the league: "Very happy to see that we can score with the man advantage", GM Kaminski said. Surprisingly its not James Neal who is currently the 5th best NEFHL scorer with 43 points in 38 games is leading the Rangers PP stats.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau has league leading 8 goals on the PP. Thats huge considering that he only owns a 54 sc rating. But Pageau also dished out 128 hits (13th in NEFHL). "JG did great for us this year. We lack a real 2nd line Center but as long as he is playing that well, we dont need anyone better", Kaminski added.

Another amazing story is the game of Keith Yandle. Since acquiring from Buffalo for McCabe and a 1st he scored 12 points in 11 games. In Buffalo he had only 5 points in 23 games. "We knew we lack someone who can move the puck like he does, but sure he surprised us even more."

"We are satisfied so far but with a 20-7-6 record we still have room for improvement. The injury of Jumbo Joe wasnt helping as he is our best playmaker. Especially with the 106 goals against we are not pleased", Kaminski sumarized the Rangers season short before the halfway mark.

That also means that Craig Anderson has to step up his game. Despite better ratings and a strong defensive team in front of him, his stats are declining. "Sure he doesnt get younger but we expect better from him. Otherwise its not safe that he can stay with us next season. Especially as Aaron Dell is oding a tremendous job in the NHL."
