Goalie of the future...

-Detroit,Michigan

The general manager of the Detroit Redwings was a show at this year draft in Ottawa and he had a blast..He would like to thank JD for the setup and organisation at Broadway and Sylvain for keeping us updated with the draft board and helping me with his scoutings skills..The wings had a total of 12 picks in this year's draft but most of them were 4th and 5th rounders...(72)Since the wings Gm was there in person on the thursday night and not owning a pick in the first two rounds, we decided that it was a good time to trade a 2nd in 2019 for a 2nd in 2018 and to make a pick...We had groulx, Mcissac and Rodrigue on our list in that order...The first two picks went out just before we were picking and ending up taking the number one ranked goalie prospect in Olivier Rodrigue of the Drummondville voltigeurs in the QJMHL ....We feel like our organisation is slacking in the goalie departement with Luongo being old and not having any top goalie prospects in our talent pool...We feel like Rodrigue has all the tools to be a top 10 goaltender in the NHL in a few years...He's not a big goalie at 6 foot 1 and 159 pounds but he plays really agressive and he's rarely out of position...He's got great reflexes ,he's very calm under pressure and a very good rebound control...He will go back to the Q next year to dominate and maybe play for team Canda at the juniors...
