I knew there were some good teams in the West, and I knew there were a few rebuilding teams in the East, but I did not realize going into these, just how much better the Western Conference is this season. It should probably skew the rankings as inevitably, since the West will play more Western games, they will drop down the final rankings.
With the trimming we did this off-season, I did not think we'd be the top ranked team in the East, but, the competition is light at the moment.
Those top western teams have all done a good job of building on assets and will remain threats for many seasons I imagine.
LA, who is ranked 12th overall in the league, would be out of a playoff spot. Whereas the Panthers, ranked13th would be taking their division.
The Atlantic Division is particularly terrible, probably worst division ever.
Vancouver is cup pick at this time.
Here is how the standings will look based on these rankings:
Based on only Hoover Grade, the top 6 teams, to me, are all in the WEST! To point out a bias - I did rank all the teams by their scores prior to me assigning my own grades.
