In an all new article, we are going to dive deep into the Eastern conference and Westermn Conference predictions. Not quite like the yearly Hoover ratings we all know and love.

Lets dig into the East. Will post the standing below.

Last year the Devils ran away with the conference. This year is the same team with the addition of Victor olofsson. However a few guys have seen some drop offs in play. Both Coyle and Dubois have seen their p[lay drop off which could hurt the devils down the middle. Trick here is.. The Devils are $8 million over the salary cap.

Sabres finished 2nd in the East last year and have made some changes. Adding Malkin could be huge here. The Sabres are deep down the middle which  should go along way. The D is suspect but Kev always seems to make that work. Lehner is solid in net.

Flyers the cup champs. Gross top to bottom. Not one weak player on the team. 2 great goalies, not elite but great. Only weakness is they are little soft on the backend but defensively sound.

Canadians finished 4th last year and could easily improve this year. Maybe my favorite team on paper here. Skill, speed, scoring, defense, goaltending, depth. They have it all.

Carolina finished 5th last year and could look similar this year. Lots of skill. Some questions on the backend. After Trouba is looks a little suspect. Very strong in net.

Rangers finished 6th last year and have made alot of moves. This team can score and score lots. Another team that is a little weak in the back though.

Islanders finished 7th and are built heavily on speed. They are gonna fly all game long. Speed wins right? Islanders could be a big surprise this year.

Panthers were the final team to make the playoffs last year. This team is stacked up front. D? Another team that could struggle there along with some cap issues.

Columbus finished in that deadly 9th seed. I see some improvements with the addition of Lee and Stastny. Lots of youth in the lineup could be a fun season here.

Toronto missed the playoffs and tried to do a semi retool on the fly amonst a rebuild. Signed a couple ufa to fill some holes. Sick on D, terrible upfront. Can Bernier get them in?

Tampa had a rough season but were able to resign Fleury who looks poised to have a monster season. Solid all around even though they lost Malkin.

Detroit another team who had a rough season. However they have Carey Price. He alone could get them in. Some solid depth here around Kopitar. Some cap concerns.

Pittsburgh is obviously rebuilding after a cup win. Looks bleak on paper but let me tell you those cupboards are stacked. Another year or 2 before the pens make a push.

Washington finshed last yeaer strong with the addition of the best goalie in the league. Added wheeler up front as well. Could be a team looking to get in if Vasi has a monster year.

Boston is in the midst of a rebuild. Looks strong in net bnut should be a pretty boring year there.

Ottawa was downright brutal. They signed almost every UFA and have made a complete 180. Looks significantly better on paper.
