Lets analyze the west now.

Last year we saw the Avs crush it all season with some mind boggling numbers. The salary cap has crippled and forced out Matthews and Zibby 2 huge losses but still have a solid team top to bottom.

Vancouver finished 2nd in the west last year and not sure there is a better team on paper then these guys. Zero weakness.

Chicago has an incredible season last year and could be even beter this year. Arguably the best center core in the league and insane in net. The d is solid but not great.

Arizona surprised some last year with a huge season finishing 4th in the west. I would bet alot they make the playoffs again. Once your in who knows what will happen.

Winnipeg was the only playoff team to have a negative goal differential. With the addition of Kucherov and lindholm the Jets should improve. Gibson is a rock.

Calgary a team always in the mix. Best goalie in the league, a nasty 1-2 center punch followed by Petry and Werenski. I smell another playoff appearance.

Nashville is a team almost every year i see as a contender. Built with defense as the motto with the lowest rated DF at 70. Thats insane. Added Carter late last year and with Kuemper between the pipes Nashville has a shot.

Minnesota was the 8th and final playoff team last year. Wanna talk defense. HOLY FUCK. This team is hands down the best defesive team in the league. No question. Ya i smell more playoffs as long as Hart can hold up. Minny might give up 50 goals all year. im serious.

Edmonton missed the playoffs on a tie breaker. Solid back end and in net but not sure im in love with the offense. Could be a tough season here.

Dallas another team who missed the playoffs on a tie breaker. This team is pretty insane upfront. The top forwards will be heavily relied on as the depth is a bit weak but the back end and goaltending is very solid.

San Jose had a rough season. However anytime you can throw out Barkov withg Ovy your never out of a game. Could use an upgrade in net.

Vegas is in rebuilding phase. Tons of sick youth will be a force soon.

St Louis is another rebuilding team. Cant see anything here that get them in the playoffs yet.  Tons of high end prspects and several high picks in the coming draft. St louis will be a force soon enough.

Anaheim had a rough year as well. Couple nice assets on the backend with Laffy upfront will be fun to watch develop.

LA finished at the bottom. Added Zibby to play with Mcdavid. How far can those 2 take them?
