The stars are excited to start a new NEFHL season with hopes of a better outcome then last season. The stars felt like they got shafted last year by not making the playoffs and this year has to be different with the line up they have. Here is a quick look at what the lines will be for the start of the nefhl season.
First line : Panarin, Draisaitl, Marner, Letang and Nurse
- This could be the best line in the whole league. These 5 guys combine for a impressive average of 80SC and 80DF and will counted on heavily to produce the bulk of the offense.
Second Line: Debrincat, Danault, Garland, Borowiecki and Ceci
- I am hoping with the new dynamic rating format that guys like Garland and Danault will be able to get better as the season progresses as they might get more oppertunity with new clubs in the nhl. As for Debrincat he is probably a no brainer to keep solid ratings and be a solid top 6 guy for years to come.
Third line: Kuhlman, Twarynski , Domi, Maatta and Forbort
- This is where the Stars might be in trouble. This is not a legit third line in our opinion for maybe the exception of Domi. The depth is a huge concern for the stars going forward. The stars will be looking to save cap space to improve this line by the deadline.
Fourth Line: Carpenter Petan Smith Letang and Nurse
- Once again this line is kinda soft in terms of depth. Letang and Nurse will help balance this line. Look for the minutes of Petan and Smith to be minimal as they are not even solid enough to earn time on the PK.
Goalies: Smith , Montembault and Husso
The Stars were happy to see Smith get up to 79ov with the dynamic ratings and hope he can improve on that being the obvious #1 in Edmonton in the NHL. As for Montembault he might get a few starts with Montreal behind Allen but when Carey Price returns he will get zero playing time. Husso is a guy in St-Louis that might get better ratings as the season moves on but will prob be a backup for a while. All this to say is that the Stars are banking on Smith to stay healthy or else they might be in trouble.
