The 30 year old, who is on his last year of contract with the club, was spotted boarding a plane at Ελευθέριος Βενιζέλος (Eleftherios Venizelos) International Airport in Athens, Greece a number of weeks ago, but has not been seen since. Blue Jackets General Manager Eric provided a brief statement about the situation: "It is unlike (Olli) to miss a scheduled team event of any sort, be it a game, a practice, a fundraiser or a urine test. I am therefore extremely concerned about his absence at camp and I am doing all I can to find him and bring him home safely." Jokinen had been traveling with his wife and daughters since the beginning of July and was supposed to return to Ohio on August 15.

Olli Jokinen and his family were last seen in Athens, Greece a number of weeks ago.

Despite the star player's absence, the Jackets' training camp went ahead as planned and the 18,000 fans in attendance were treated to a display of speed, skill and discipline. All in all the squad seems to have improved since their disappointing exit of the 2008 NEFHL Playoffs. Coach Brian Sutter was particularly pleased with C Dave Bolland's performance, "You can really tell that his ratings have improved since last season; he is a much better passer and skater, and his back-checking is very strong. I haven't looked at his profile recently but he must be around 70OV now." As far as line combinations go, it is believed that Jokinen will centre LW Ryan Malone and RW Petr Sykora, while Bolland will play with LW Radim Vrbata and RW Mark Parrish. The 3rd and 4th lines, along with the defensive pairings, are still up in the air.

Info about pictures:

It was July 1st, I was walking through the airport in Athens looking for my departure gate when I see a man and his two girls hogging those demonstration massage chairs that you see at malls and airports. As I walk by, I'm thinking to myself: "What kind of douchebag actually sits on those chairs?", so I glance over and that douchebag is none other than my boy Olli friggen Jokinen. I stop dead on my tracks and say: "Olli?" He just stared at me without saying a word, and I could tell that he didn't want to be bothered since he was with his family, so I kept on walking. I then pull my girlfriend to the side, explain the situation to her, and ask her to walk back and get a couple pictures of him while he's not looking. These are the pictures she took.
