Devils Trading Kane?

Only a year after selecting Patrick Kane 2nd overall in the 2007 NEFHL entry draft, rumors are circulating that the Devils are in serious talks with at least 2 teams concerning a deal around the diminutive winger.  Already signed to a dirt cheap entry level contract, Kane is poised to play on the top line with Peter Forsberg (if he doesn't retire) and winger Chuck Kobasew.
Throughout his year on the Devils, there has been very little talk about Kane besides his easy stay among the top of the Devils prospect list.  Kane has incredible hands, innate ability to feed the puck to teammates and his defense is surprisingly better than the team would have guessed.

However, this may not be enough to keep him with the team.

One offer from a West team has seen the Devils being offered a top six forward under 25 years old plus 2 prospects the team is incredibly high on and either a 1st or two 2nd round picks.  While the Devils would hate to deal Kane, getting back 3 potential (and 1 current) top six players could be too much to pass up.

The other offer is from an Eastern team and came after the first see's the team being offered another potential top line player who has yet to be signed in NEFHL, as well as a roster player who could take over on the top six, but wouldn't have quite the impact Kane would.  However, if the trade panned out as the Devils hope - it could lead to the team having 2 top line players...but both likely right-wingers, something the team already has a few of.

No comments out of New Jersey have been said one way or the other about these rumors other than lots of worried fans wondering if the Devils would trade a very young elite talent before he ever plays a game for the team...
