Rangers News

Rangers Forecasted Lineup for 2006-07

Center
First line center: Mats sundin 85 ovr. Definitely will be staying with us and I attempt to make him play on every first unit.

Second line center: Sergei federov - Proven to be an excellent both way center, however in the playoffs he did not perform as well as anticipated. Could go in a deal for a more dynamic center with less ovr.

Third line centerman

Opened to anybody (Dominic Moore could be the guy) or a cheap UFA

4th line center Jim dowd: Will like to sign him back for defensive purpose and could replace holzinger retired.

LW:

Line 1: Martin Straka: Will play on my first line unit with mats sundin. Finess and great playmaker could produce well with mats and nolan.

Line 2: open spot This is where I would have to get my only UFA. I need a scorer with federov.

Line 3: Jay pandolfo : Will like to sign him and could be a good pk purposes.

Line 4: nikita aleexev : I know he's playing in europe but if by chance he plays for tampa next year I will like to put him up there.

RW:

Line 1: OWEN NOLAN: definitely need him, and will like to sign him for many years. I need someone going in corners and get the puck for straka and sundin.

Line 2: Valeri Bure: He played well last year with federov so therefore he will remain with him. Hope he doesn't retire next year with L.A.

Line 3: Shawn Mechachern: Good experience player. Good enough for 3rd line unit

Line 4: Niclas Sunstrom: Not sure if I wanna keep him however he could help for defensive purposes.

Also I will like to graduation Jordan Tootoo on my Rw.

Players that will be sign this year by the NY rangers
