Wings are in rebuild mode and have done an excellent job of building their prospect bank while still trying to find some vets with re-sale value. One such deal was adding Josi, one of the leagues top defenders, while also adding a 1st. Josi will be on the market all season, but with nearly a $6 million cap hit, there won't be many buyers. Wings will hope that there may be a few options to up his return come the trade deadline. In free agency they added a couple good vets with Krug and Silfverberg that are good bets to have some resell value next offseason. Veteran Carey Price, making $5.8, pairs with Samsonov to make a decent goaltending duo.

After a couple cups the Sens went into full rebuild mode. They are now trying to pull out of rebuilding and back to making some playoff noise. Last year they signed free agent Brock Nelson to a big 4 year deal and he remains their key forward. On defense, Gudbranson was added to provide them a pretty solid defense group, led by the fragile Ryan Ellis. Demko is the big deal in Ottawa. One of the league’s top goalies. His salary jumped from $975k last year to $4.75 until he's 29 and another tough negotiation is to take place. He's Sen drafted talent, which they have a lot more to move if they wish, but chances are this isn't the year we see the Sens moving top prospects for short-term upgrades.
