Wild West and Blues Update

This started as a game Day Talk post but I checked the word count and I was at 247 words.  So I added a paragraph and made it an article.  Looks like I won't run out of position changes next year:)

Wild West Update:

Stars and Yotes lose.  The Sharks,Oil and Blues win.

As much as the Flames want to try and make it a race for the top spot in the west, the Sharks just won’t let them.  A win last night puts them 5 points up on the Flames with a game in hand.

In the real battle for the last 3 playoff spots, only 2 points now separate the 6th place Blues and the 11th place Yotes. For the first time so far this year, the Stars are in danger of falling out of the playoffs.  Does Sly really need another good draft pick?  With all teams still with 12-13 games left, this battle is still far from over.

The Kings and AVs separated by 1 point are headed in opposite directions.  Defying all expectations the Kings are 8-2 in their last 10. The former Avs juggernaut a lowly 3-7.  The pressure is growing in Colorado and the Avs GM is starting to feel the heat.

The Jackets, not long ago in the thick of the wild west battle have rattled off 4 straight wins to open up 5 and 6 point spread over the blues and Hawks in the battle for the Central.  The blues and hawks each have 1 game in hand.

Blues Update:

The Blues have railed off 2 straight after dropping 2 straight.  Shot differential is back and so is scoring.  The change?  2 games ago I swapped my 2nd and 3rd line forwards.

Since the change:

8-0 win vs Minny

1st line: 1 of 8 goals.

2nd line: 4 of 8 goals.

3rd Line: 2 of 8 goals.

4th line: 1 of 8 goals.

4-3 win vs Avs

1st line: 0 goals

2nd line: 3 of 4 goals.

3rd Line: 1 of 4 goals.

4th line: 0 goals

Both of those lines are now doing well especially the 2nd.  1 goal in 2 games for the 1st line is a bit concerning though. Only a -1 last night so at least they are playing ok defense.

Stay tuned for more Wild West Updates and Blues News.
