Breaking: Seguin heading West?

Word is there is a deal on the table to acquire Tyler Seguin that is close to be done. Nothing official yet but it looks like that ugly performance for the former Hart Throphy winner in the playoffs sealed his fate.

This is not the first time Tyler Seguin has almost been traded and a deal could fall apart before it's made official. However sources are saying its the closest to be done.

Seguin was dubbed a franchise star early on his career as soon as he was drafted 2nd overall, and he didnt dissappoint. He scored 223 goals, 318 assists for 541 points in 550 games(All ranks 2nd all time for the Capitals behind Alexander Ovechkin.) His best season came in 2015-2016 when he scored a career best 43 goals, 62 assists for 105 points en route to an art ross and Hart throphy as the leagues best player. Any deal involving Tyler Seguin is expected to be signifcant.

As this was just being posted, the deal has been agreed upon, but nothing official can be done until the playoffs are over. Sources are saying 8 pieces are going to Washington, while another piece along with Seguin is heading west. The Capitals are serious about change, and the other team in the west is serious about competing and its a top team already in the west. So the west arms race has started, while the east are happy to see Seguin gone. It will be a dissappointing time for Capitals fans but with Barzal and OV along with these pieces coming in, it could be a welcome change.
