The Montreal Canadiens were awarded the 2011 NEFHL All Star Game, and with 2 starters selected for the game, the weekend was bound to be an entertaining one for the host city.

It all started on Saturday night with the Young Stars game.  After a sluggish first period, the Eastern Young stars came out strong in the second and ended the game on a 8-2 run.  Home town boy Oscar Moller led the East with 3 goals and the Eastern Young stars won the game 9-5 in front of a packed house.  Luca Caputi was named first star for his 2 goal and 2 assist game while Erik Karlsson and Tyler Bozak rounded out the 3 stars.  As exceited as the crowd was on this night, the next day was even that much better for the Canadiens fans.

The All Star Game itself was played on Saturday.  There was a lot of buzz in the week leading up to the game with the Western GM's talking a lot of trash about how bad they were going to destroy the Eastern team.  Those little comments gave the Eastern players a little extra motivation and they gave the home town crowd another win, this time 8-5.  Another Canadien had a hat trick, this time it was Stephen Weiss and he added another 2 assists to get first star honors. "Getting a hat trick at All Star weekend is always an exciting thing, but doing it at home is just a little extra special" stated Weiss.  weiss was able to drive off in a new vehicle for this, and was going to give it away to a local Boys and Girls club.

Another exciting NEFHL All Star weekend has come to a close, and hopefully the Canadiens can pick up on the excitement start playing better at home.
