The Penguins were one period away from sweeping the Winnipeg Jets before Anze Kopitar capitalized on a 3-on-1 chance early in the 3rd period. Defensemen, Brent Burns, was caught out of position on the tying goal after trying to dump the puck into the Jets offensive zone. Dustin Brown sent a cross crease pass that left a three foot putt for Kopitar.

"That's obviously a play I'd like to do over. The puck rolled on me after I crossed the red line and Brown made a nice play on me. It's one of those plays that you need to make and I slipped up" said Burns on the play that led to the Jets tying things up.

The game was a goaltending dual as Tim Thomas turned away 30 shots while Marc-Andre Fleury turned away 31. The turning point came at 18:55 in the first period of overtime. With both fourth lines on the ice, call up, John McCarthy, failed to get the puck out of the Penguins defensive zone. With the puck in his possession, Enstrom flipped the biscuit towards the net while Legwand and Higgins jostled for position. In the end, it was Higgins who managed to lift the puck over a sprawled out Marc-Andre Fleury.

"It's always tough losing a game in OT, especially one with so much on the line. We have played great this series and I am happy with our performance thus far. Now, it's all about execution and being in the right spot and hopefully that's on Tuesday" said a quiet Dan Bylsma.
