In what was arguably the most memorable game of the season, the Pittsburgh Penguins managed to defeat and eliminate the Washington Capitals from the playoff picture with a 3-2 victory Monday night. It was a valiant effort from Alex Ovechkin and the Caps, but it wasn't enough to beat the Crosby and Letang-less Penguins. With the win, the Pens clinched the final playoff spot in the Eastern conference.

Disgusted with his teams performance, Ovechkin could only muster up a brief and emotional response to his team missing the playoffs.

"I... (tears).... I'm sorry." said Ovy before running towards one of the bathroom stalls in the Caps dressing room.

In other news, both Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang skated in a full contact practice with the team this morning. Odds are they will not dress for the teams final game vs. the Florida Panthers. The two superstars will be in the lineup when the Penguins hit the ice for game one of the quarterfinals. The Penguins have no clue who they will face but  are guaranteed that it will be one of the New Jersey Devils, Buffalo Sabres or Carolina Hurricanes.
