With the youth movement only one year in, the top 25 Canadiens prospect list is not as deep as we hope it is this time next year, but it is a lot deeper than it has been in years. Most of these picks are from the last 2-3 years when we started to focus more on building for the future, but also means a lot of them are still 2-3 years away from making an impact in the NEFHL.
Defense is the strongest position in the farm system with 10 of the top 25 coming from that position. The Canadiens usually take a D in 2nd round, and then pick up a few in later rounds, so this is not surprising. There are 6 Centers, 4 Left Wings, 2 Right Wings and 3 Goalies to round out the list. Right wing is the weakest spot on the farm, and the one position that will need to be looked at more closely this season.
