Clearwater, FL AP- The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced the hiring of new General Manager Matt Poulin. The hiring of GM Lamarche's replacement was made very quick. Bolts owner, and minority Boston Red Sox Jeff Vinik was on hand today to comment on his most recent hiring.

" We are very pround to announce that Matt Poulin has been named new General Manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning. We wanted to fill the role very quickly and were very pleased Matt was available.

We caught up to Poulin after today's presser do discuss his new role with the organization.

" I am very happy the Tampa organization chose me as new GM. I am known to be aggressive on the trade market, but i always want to put my stamp on any team ive managed and i am looking forward to building a championship team here in Tampa. you can expect a lot of activity from us leading up to the trade dealine. We want to re-tool on the fly here and get a bit younger at some positions. No player is untouchable, we do however want to keep all of our 1st round draft pick for the time being."

The fans in Tampa have enjoyed some success over the years and they all hope newly appointed GM Matt Poulin can return them to the promiss land. If past history is any indication this roster will be looking much different a year from now and maybe a slight face lift is what is needed for this club to become relevent once again.
