As the season continues to be mediocre, the Canadiens brass will be deciding soon whether to sell some assets and look towards next year or if they want to make a push for the bottom end of the East playoff race. The top 20 prospect list is not as deep with top end talent right now, but there is some middle of the lineup and roll player talent on the list. As of right now, the top 20 Canadiens prospect list looks like this.

1. Noah Dobson
2. Philip Tomasino
3. Stuart Skinner
4. Martin Fehervary
5. Andrew Peeke
6. Michael Rasmussen
7. Keegan Kolesar
8. Lukas Dostal
9. Sean Tschigerl
10. Riley Damiani
11. MacKenzie Entwistle
12. Simon Holmstrom
13. Joel Nystrom
14. Jared McIsaac
15. Kaedan Korczak
16. Dmitri Samorukov
17. Eemil Viro
18. Joe Vrbetic
19. Filip Hallander
20. Jesper Sellgren

8 players on this list are currently in the NHL and on target for useful rerates next year. Noah Dobson is slowly looking more comfortable in the NHL and getting over 20 minutes a game on the Islanders backend. Joining him on the defensive end are Fehervary and Peeke who both are getting 2nd pair minutes and putting up decent stats. All 3 of these players should see lots of minutes on the Canadiens back end next season
On the offensive end, Rasmussen, Tomasino and Entwistle are getting about 11-15 minutes a game on the bottom 6 and looking like they could move up the lineups next year. The surprise of the NHL list is Kolesar who looked like a 4th line checking player at his max but is on pace for about 30 points this year and should be a solid 3rd liner next year for the Canadiens.
In net, Skinner has made great strides this year and has good numbers in the NHL. He could be a backup NEFHL goalie as early as next year.
The rest of this list is in the minors or juniors and are all having seasons that lead the Canadiens to believe they could be regulars in a few years.
